The Hose Finally "UNKINKED"
by Yvonne B.

I am a gardener. I am a very patient person. I understand the concept of planting a seed and enjoying the process of watching a plant grow. I also understand that a great deal of growth must take place below the surface, before visible changes are seen above ground. That has been my T-Tapping life up to this 60-day challenge. A lot of activity just below the surface, so to speak.

I have been T-Tapping since February of 2004. T-Tapping has helped me to both improve and to maintain my level of health. But, that elusive drop of two sizes, the real reason I tried this, has failed to materialize.

T-Tapp has been great for helping me to maintain my weight. Five and a half years ago I was a size 18/20. I lost quite a bit of weight prior to T-Tapping and was actually wearing 8's and 10's. I started Tapping at a size 12 and have been sitting on top of "Plateau number 12" ever since. Size, I feel, is all relative. The way I look at it, without T-Tapp to help stop the spread, I may very well have been back up to a size 20 or more at this point.

With T-Tapp, I have noticed other positive changes in my body such as better posture, less fatigue, muscles building below the surface, and cuts in my arms. Actually, two years of weight lifting did not give me the cuts that T-Tapping has. For these reasons alone, I have been enticed to continue. I do have a few existing health concerns such as Hashimoto's Auto-Immune Thyroiditis, a herniated disc that flares up, and some joint issues. I am thrilled that Primary Back stretch can usually straighten out my back in three days. I feel T-Tapping is also helping me to fend off my hereditary demons of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and osteoporosis. But, for this contest, I had some specific reasons for wanting to participate.

First, being totally unathletic, I wanted to prove to myself that at 50, I could still set a fitness goal and be successful. I like the program because being an athlete is not a prerequisite. Granted, you do have to constantly think about what you are doing while exercising. All those instructions Ms. Tapp spews out can be daunting at times. "She wants me to do what .... in this lifetime ... is she serious ...? I have lost my balance to many times to count from various distractions. But, for me thinking, rather than mindlessly going through the motions, makes the exercise time fly.

Secondly, I wanted to prove to myself that working through the fatigue and aches that go with a chronic health condition would not kill me. I did not want to walk away from completing this challenge when I felt too tired to work out. Any type of chronic health condition can exhaust a person. I really pushed myself to just do a little more every time I T-Tapped during this challenge.

Finally, I wanted to keep trying for that elusive clothing size loss. That fat layer still had to go! I keep raving about the program. People ask me, " how many sizes have you lost?" It doesn't make me a very convincing spokesperson to say, "... well none, but I...!"

I am very happy with the results.. The effort has certainly been worth it. The structure of the contest has helped me stay accountable and I have been able to push through to a knew level of T-Tapping. It looks like the "Hose" has finally unkinked and that neuro-kinetic flow is working for me now.

I did start with a fourteen day boot camp and I swelled. I only had a 2 inch net loss for the first two weeks. I am so glad I completed the challenge and did not stop at that point. After that, the inches consistently dropped. I was able to work out on days when I did not want to get out of bed and I'm still here to talk about it. My 12's are so lose, I can't wait to shop for 10's.

In fact, I am feeling so empowered that, I am setting up some new fitness challenges for myself. I am planning to walk a half marathon in January of 2007 with a group of co-workers and my husband and I are planning to hike Long's Peak next summer. I feel like a winner already and would love to come to Florida in October for the Retreat.
