60 Day Challenge - 2007
Grand Prize Winner
Average to Lose Category

Bobbie W.

I approached the contest with some things that I wanted to accomplish in the 60 days and some things to continue working on to increase my energy, endurance, and improving my health and wellness besides losing inches.

I completed the contest without too many days of barely being able to move those aching legs, arms, torso, and derriere. Gotta love those dead sea salt baths!

From the first time that I did Instructional Tape 2 until this contest, I have had an aversion with mental and physical blocks to doing my least favorite move TTN. Basically I just didn’t do it. At the certifications in November I purchased the Target POP TTN so that I could master this move. Well I took very good care of the tape----just put it in a drawer so that it wouldn’t collect dust or get lost. Day by day I worked on TTN. I made TTN a must to learn and to do. I may not have the best form but at least now I do do TTN. I will continue working on improving my form and get my arms and legs more coordinated in Advanced TTN. Unfortunately it still remains my least favorite move.

For many years I have wanted to take the Master Gardener course through the Texas Cooperative Extension and Texas A&M but could not fit the two days a week for six weeks into my work schedule. I resigned from my job the beginning of this year and was able to take the course. How wonderful and enjoyable to be in class with people who share the same interests and want to learn with me. In addition to attending the classes and passing the tests to be certified, one performs volunteer hours in the Friendship Garden. There are always weeding to be done in the vegetable plots, herb garden, shade garden, rose garden, perennial garden, tropical garden, fruit orchard besides pruning, planting, harvesting, and mulching. I knew I had put on some pounds enjoying not working, but I quickly learned how out of shape I was---20 minutes of the Texas heat and humidity in May did me in! There I was tired, winded, and needing to take another break while the other gardeners were still working away and I had already had several breaks. How was I going to get in the required hours and survive when it really gets hot and humid here? I kept doing T-Tapp and thanks to T-Tapp, I have increased my stamina and endurance and have more energy not only to work in the Friendship Garden but in my own yard and clean my house. I'm almost the last one to take a break now.

It has been great having my tight clothes get looser and digging through the boxes in the closet to find clothes that are a smaller size. I wear baggy T- shirts when I work out as I am uncomfortable in how I feel I look. I will continue to T-Tapp and am looking forward to the day when I am wearing the cute exercise clothes. Maybe this Safety Harbor will be the one.

What's this on my right arm? It's on my left arm too. Goodness, it is some development of the teardrop cut. Its only on one side and looks a bit strange. I'll just increase doing the arm movements to get the full cut so that I can go sleeveless.

In a couple of weeks I will have my 6-month blood work done. I am pre-diabetic with hypertension and slightly elevated triglycerides. In the past 60 days I have seen my blood pressure getting lower. Hoe Downs has really made a difference in testing my blood sugars. There has been a decrease in the fasting and the 2 hr postprandial blood sugars. I expect the triglyceride level to be lower also and for my physician to decrease the statin and hypertensive doses of the medications I am taking. I know for sure that he won’t be putting me on an oral diabetic medicine! Hopefully in the months to come with T-Tapp, I will be able to stop these medications.

Looking forward to more inches lost, being healthier, and even more energy and endurance.
