Thank you so much for this contest! It was just the motivation I needed to make exercise a regular part of my life again and begin to finally build the body I’ve been longing for.
I first heard about T-Tapp from my business partner, who said she’d never tried another program that transformed her body in the way this one did. (And, I learned later, she was only doing the Basic Plus!) Well, that was a pretty powerful recommendation, so I immediately went on-line and checked it out. I was confused by the wide array of product offerings and couldn’t decide where to start, so I did nothing for a couple of months. The second time she mentioned it, I looked again, and ordered the “Yes You Can With T-Tapp” DVD for a sample taste. I was away when it arrived and didn’t notice it at first, then had trouble finding the time to watch a 90-minute video.
Well, thankfully, my purchase had put me on your mailing list, and one glorious day your contest invitation arrived in my e-mail. I knew immediately I had to do it, and that if I was going to get the results I wanted from my 60 days, I would have to play to win.
I’d been increasingly unhappy lately with my spreading body and lack of commitment to exercise, beyond my daily half-hour walk, for which the beautiful spring weather was providing natural motivation. I was eating fairly healthy at home (mostly “god-made” foods – thank you for that wonderful distinction), and had eaten no sugar, which I used to be addicted to, in nearly two years! But I would pig out on large quantities of chips and other “man-made” foods at parties and on trips. I was ready for a change, and thrilled to have the accountability of your contest to provide the structure and motivation.
As the contest start date approached, I finally got the “Yes You Can” DVD out and spent a couple of hours watching it and learning the exercises in it, and later on, went back and wrote them down so I’d remember them. I turned them into a mini workout. My daily walks turned into turbo-T-Tapp walks. I’d do the entire half-hour circuit KLT-style – knees out, butt and tummy tucked, shoulders back, and thumbs pointing backward – and would do the arm exercises as I walked. (A neighbor said she saw me out walking, doing funny things with my arms. I was okay with that!) Most days I’d also do the lunges and hoedowns at home.
I noticed almost immediate results. My tummy looked tighter and flatter in the mirror, my posture was much better, and I actually felt two inches taller and straighter as I walked! I had more energy and was eating better and getting more sleep.
I got home late from a weekend away on the start date of the contest, and had to run out to buy a newspaper before bed. Since it was late on a Sunday and I was home alone, it took me a long time to figure out how to use the auto-timer on my digital camera, where to prop the camera, and where to stand to get a good set of “before” pictures. But I was determined, so I took the time.
Now that the contest was officially underway, I needed to upgrade to a proper workout program. I ordered the T-Tapp Total Workout, and began my “boot camp” the day it arrived. I read that for someone like me, it was recommended to do a 4-day boot camp of every-day workouts, then switch to every other day. I determined to do as much working out as I could fit in, and for most of the first six weeks or so of the contest, I did the complete workout, plus my walk, almost every day. When I started to need a little variety, I downloaded all the “free” exercises from the web site, and on some days I did Organs in Place / Half Frogs, Awesome Legs, and Diva Derriere in place of the TTW.
Three weeks into the contest, my barbershop chorus, Hickory Tree Chorus, sang at the opening ceremony of the Relay for Life, an overnight team walking event to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Perfect timing, I thought, and decided I would stay the night with my team and walk the whole night – as many miles as I could (with stretch / food / water / bathroom breaks every hour). I walked 56 laps – 14 miles, KLT all the way … in flip flops! (I’ve done most of my workouts, by the way, in the same flip flops – they are Reef Gingers, which are extremely comfortable and have better arch support than most sneakers.) Next day I allowed myself to skip my TTW – only because I was too busy with other projects and didn’t have the time! My legs felt fine, believe it or not.
(By the way, singing in a championship chorus is another recent breakthrough for me. I was told as a child that I couldn’t carry a tune, and so rarely sang again until I was nearly 30. Since then I’ve been learning and practicing all I can, making up for all those lost years … and in April my group won our regional championship. Because of this, we get to go to Hawaii next year to compete against the top 30 barbershop choruses in the world! You really can do anything, if you are passionate and committed.)
A couple of weeks ago, because I still wasn’t entirely happy with the bulge in my belly, I decided to do a three-day “Fruit Flush” cleanse. I had done one once before and lost a lot of weight and felt really good on it. This time the results were much less impressive – perhaps because I was already eating really well and getting so fit. I continued my workouts through the cleanse, even though it advised not to do anything strenuous while eating less than usual. I felt hungry a lot on the cleanse, and it didn’t make much of a difference after all. I wouldn’t do it again, certainly not in the middle of an intense workout program like this. But I was ready to try anything within the contest guidelines and my own personal boundaries that I thought would support me in achieving the best results possible. So I’m happy I tried it.
So here I am now, at the end of the contest, many inches tighter and more toned. I feel great, my exercise has become a habit, I’m thinner than I’ve been in years, and I’ve never looked more fit. You can see in my photos I have a big prominent lipoma (fatty deposit) on the front of my left thigh, which has been growing steadily there for many years. I’ve researched lipoma cures extensively on the net, and found that neither western medicine nor the alternative community offer much hope besides surgical removal. And yet, I could swear it has grown significantly smaller since I started T-Tapping!
I could not be more pleased with the results of this contest. I only wish you’d run one every two months, so I could continue to use the structure and accountability of having to send monthly photos and measurements to someone “official” to keep me playing at this level. Until you do, I’m going to have to figure out some similar structure with other people in my life to keep the enthusiasm going at the high level I’ve had – I want to do whatever I can to capture and keep that!
If I win, that will provide the external motivation at least through October, since I’ll be determined to get the rest of the way to my goals by then and look and feel completely amazing at the retreat! If not, I’ll find my own way to stay motivated. Either way I’m determined to keep T-Tapping and keep winning!
Thank you so much – your program is amazing. I tell everyone I know about you. Next year we’ll all compete together!
