More to Lose Category Winner

Terri F.

I entered the 60-Day Challenge after only T-Tapping for 3 weeks. My primary motive was to use the challenge to create a habit and, if successful I would consider that my “win.” In order to support habit creation, I decided that other than following contest rules, *not* to alter my workout routine. My results have been much great than I could have imagined. I consider them amazing! First and for most, I believe I have created a habit! Considering I have not exercised routinely for close to two decades, I find this a huge accomplishment. I actually miss T-Tapp if I go for more than 2 days without a workout. Tangibly, beyond my inch loss, which you have, I’m down 2 pants sizes and 2 bra band sizes. I had to wear hi-rise Spanx under my new Easter dress and now it is too big with no Spanx required. Actually, I think my Spanx are too big, too! Can you see how much my swimsuit bottoms sag?

Beyond my wonderful shrinking body, I’ve had other unexpected but very welcome results. The biggest current result is a reduction in lower back pain from a March 2008 injury. I can’t say the pain is totally gone, but doing Primary Back Stretch will eliminate it for hours. More importantly, I feel like I’m finally strengthening my abdominal and back muscles so that this vulnerable part of my anatomy is protected and less likely to become injured again. Another unexpected result is that my ankles don’t roll in nearly as much. Although weight, pregnancy and age have definite contributed to my foot pronation, I have had significantly pronated feet my entire life. Since striving to do my personal best KLT, I have noticed an improvement for a problem that I always assumed unfixable. It has given me the possibility of a future without daily foot pain. Additionally, I just *feel* better about my body. Although I still have lots of sizes to lose, I feel sleeker, less jingly and more toned. In fact, I see a time not too far off where I won’t avoid photographs. I would love for my children to have childhood photos with their mother. Won’t that be wonderful!

When I entered the contest, I had no thought of actually winning. Rather, I thought it was pretty wild that I was even considering entering a fitness contest. I’ve had to really think about why I would want to win. There are two main reasons that come to mind. Initially, I really wanted the ability to go to Safety Harbor and have an opportunity to have my form critiqued and improved. Lately, though, another reason has become more important. Looking at the before and after photos of previous winners is what ultimately convinced me to try T-Tapp. I could especially relate to the More to Lose contestants. Sure, by the end of the contest they still didn’t have “model” figures, but it was so easy to see how much progress they made. Those photos gave me the push to try “one more time” after years of giving up. Then I look at *my* before and after photos and can see how much progress *I* have made and feel my confidence blossom. I have gone from giving up and trying to “accept” my size; from feeling like I was too big and too out of shape to attempt to exercise, to *knowing* that I can return to healthy size. I don’t hope that I do; I have faith that I will. It would be pretty darn amazing to offer that to another person.
