Melynda Fitt

Welcome to T-Tapp Mommy Fitness! My name is Melynda and I am the mother to two amazing boys, Matthew and Luke, and a daughter who is no longer with me. I first found T-Tapp when my stepsister read about it in Woman’s World in August 2001. She purchased the tapes and when we first did them together, I ended up spending more time laughing at myself than working out. I thought, 'There is no way I am going to get my body to do things like that!"

Even though I considered myself "active" because I was walking 4-5 miles a day, 6 days a week and lifting weights 3 times a week, I couldn't believe how T-Tapp worked muscles I had totally forgotten I had! My weightlifting sessions had also left me with large, overly muscled arms and thighs, which I hated but justified because at least I was "strong" but I longed for a leaner look. After that first workout, I decided to take some "before" photos-but I had my young son do it for me because I didn't want any one else to see me in a swimsuit! During that initial boot camp, I lost a large number of inches, and eventually went on to lose 52 inches over all.

In 2004, I became pregnant with Luke, my first “T-Tapp baby.” I was so excited to learn firsthand how T-Tapp could help me through those months and to regain my pre-baby shape afterwards. Little did I know how critical T-Tapp would be in my ability to increase my comfort level during those last difficult months of pregnancy, in addition to the post-partum time period.

Early on, T-Tapp moves such as Primary Back Stretch helped to alleviate much of my typical nausea. The fatigue that plagues so many pregnant mommies was intense, but I found I was still able to do T-Tapp MORE or Basic Workout Plus. Later in my pregnancy, I started suffering from severe pubic pain caused by a condition called diastasis symphis pubis, a separation of the pubic joint. Every action was excruciatingly painful and the only time I was able to find any mode of comfort was in correct T-Tapp stance. Even while lying down, by maintaining correct form, I was able to alleviate some of the pain associated with the condition.

While never being able to truly complete a full body workout during the last months of my pregnancy, I tried to make sure that I walked daily for about 20 minutes and performed the “basic four” T-Tapp moves: Primary Back Stretch, Balance Sequence, T-Tapp Twist, and Thread the Needle. I also tried to make sure that I did a set of Hoe Downs after each meal. Consequently, while me belly grew bigger my behind didn’t! It was a remarkable experience to remain healthy, strong and balanced throughout my pregnancy. I was extremely consistent with CRT Body Brushing, using Skin Saver Body, and taking Premium Blend Alfalfa which helped me not develop any new stretch marks with this pregnancy—in fact my old ones faded even more!

I was up and doing Primary Back Stretch in the hospital within hours of delivery (it felt so good to really stretch and move without baby in there!!). Within 10 days of delivery, I was back into my pre-pregnancy jeans. More important than all of the rapid inch loss was the fact that for the first time, I did not suffer from post-partum blues or depression, even without any medications. Because of my prior experiences, my family and myself were fully prepared to deal with serious post-partum depression issues—we had prescriptions filled, alternative care lined up for the children, sister-in-laws assigned to check on me, the whole array of supports in place. To my delight and surprise, month after month went by with no signs of the debilitating illness rearing its ugly head—eventually I was able to navigate through the entire period into toddlerhood with no signs of depression.

While every mother’s journey is individual and personal, I feel T-Tapp’s unique ability to help control and balance hormones is primarily responsible for this miracle in my life. The inch loss is great, but not having to suffer through post-partum depression? Priceless. I was consistent with T-Tapp, even the little bit I was able to do with the basic four moves, but it paid big dividends in the end. While any form of exercise may help alleviate some of the symptoms of post-partum depression, Teresa Tapp’s fine understanding of the female metabolism and hormones allowed her to create a workout that not just allows people to look great, but to feel great. In my opinion, this the best reward of all.

Once again, welcome to T-Tapp Mommy Fitness. If you have any questions or simply need some support, please feel free to contact me. I am always willing to do what I can to help you reach your wellness goals.
