My T-Tapp journey began in 2000, initially I had huge success losing 24 inches and feeling fabulous. I tapped on and off for the next few years but made a new commitment to T-Tapp in March 2006. From October 2005 I had suffered with what I thought was a “crick” in my neck, it never completely went and months later, when I developed strong pain, pins and needles, some numbness and involuntary spasm of my left arm, I sought advice from my doctor. She and I both thought it was probably a pinched nerve but ordered some x-rays just to be on the safe side. Three weeks later, I found out that I have “marked” cervical spondylosis, a form of Osteoarthritis. At 36 years of age and because the degeneration was already prominent in my neck I panicked somewhat and was actually scared to T-Tapp. I didn’t know what the diagnosis meant or what the future held for me with regards to mobility or disability.
I received some wonderful advice and support from my fellow Tappers in the initial few days when I needed it most and Lauren kindly e-mailed me with a modified PBS (I was worried about doing Head Rocks), she also recommended that I order the MORE 4 in 1 rehab workout. I was initially disheartened about ordering this workout, (silly and irrational I know,) I had up until the point of diagnosis been throwing myself into the intermediate workout and I felt like this would be a step backwards. Still, I trust Lauren as much as Teresa and I ordered that day. The DVD arrived, I watched it and I didn’t think it would be for me, it seemed so much slower than the intermediate. The next day I began a bootcamp, I was aiming for 4 days but just kept taking it one day at a time and in the end, I did 14 days, my longest ever bootcamp! This workout packs a punch! The anxiety about working out again disappeared as soon as I began my first workout as I was so busy concentrating, there is nothing jarring or jerky, no flinging, just slow and smooth all the way. By the end of my first workout I was sweaty and breathless, I like that because I feel like I’ve had a good workout. I felt no pain whilst working out, just a few twinges but I took that as everything “stretching” out again. Because it’s slow and steady, you can really concentrate on your tucking and tightening.
I lost 2 inches in my initial 14-day bootcamp and after an additional 6 weeks of MORE EOD, I have lost a further 2 inches. The most noticeable changes to my eye are really toned arms, a reduction in my saddlebags were the notorious “fat shift” phenomenon was in plain sight, I could literally see those pockets of fat shrinking in size and moving upwards and my legs have really shaped up too.
I’m only weeks in and I feel so much better, my mobility has improved, especially in my neck and shoulders, I workout EOD and I LOVE it! Four inches doesn’t sound a lot but I am a combo who is already very close to my skeletal set point, I am happier with my body and more toned than I’ve ever been. My eternally chunky legs are becoming leaner and looking longer, I have good abs, great arms and my large behind is shrinking and shaping up! I’m a size 8, sometimes a 6 and I feel great. If anyone reading this has physical limitations and is wondering if they should try this please, please try this workout. Think of it as a gift to yourself, I get a great sense of achievement when I’ve completed a workout, I’m helping to heal my body, I’m moving joints, increasing mobility, shifting pounds and tightening muscles.
I listen to my body, I combine my tapping with an anti-arthritis diet and I keep my pain meds to an absolute minimum. I had a major flare up affecting my left arm, shoulder and shoulder blade during my initial 4 weeks of tapping to MORE, not only was I able to continue tapping EOD, but on the days I did the MORE workout, I was able to last longer between pain meds. I tapped when I was “healthy” and continue to, now that I have some health issues and I wouldn’t trust my health or body to any other regime. I’m so proud of myself for committing to this workout and of belonging to the T-Tapp community, if you are wondering if you can, you already know the answer…YES, you can!
Update; I recently took a week off from my EOD MORE schedule and when I came back, I did a 7 day bootcamp which netted me a further 3.5 inch loss, I have not taken any anti-inflammatories or pain meds for 6 weeks now.
