Hi, I'm Jenny Russell. I am 28 years old, married and live in Karnes City, Texas, just South of San Antonio. I have struggled with my weight all my life. As a child, I was always labeled "chunky". People would say to me, "You're not fat, you're just a little chunky." I grew up as a teenager trying to be healthy, trying to watch what I ate, and play sports. But, I was always a little chunky. That was a stigma I had for many years. I had a history of dieting and had tried every diet I heard of to lose weight. I tried the cabbage soup diet, the grapefruit diet, the Atkins diet, the weight loss magnets, and everything in between. I even started smoking, which I knew was horrible for me just to lose weight. AND, I was teaching step aerobics 3 times per week with no results.
I stumbled across an article in Women's World magazine in 2001. It changed my life forever. The article was on T-Tapp and featured several success stories. I read the article, and the information shared made a lot of sense to me. I decided to try the exercises printed in the magazine. Within 2 weeks, I felt a tremendous amount of muscle change, especially in my problems areas (butt and thighs). I looked up the website and started reading what T-Tappers had to share on the forums, as well as Teresa's archive of newsletters. Since I have a nutrition degree and have taken lots of science courses in college, her research really interested me. It linked the science of nutrition and exercise to how and why they are different for all people. Teresa's research answered all the questions I had about exercise, nutrition, fitness, and overall wellbeing. So, I decided to order the tapes.
I began tapping in September of 2001, at a size 12. Right away, I enjoyed the exercises. They were so different and fun. By December of 2001, I had dropped to a size 9-10. I kept doing the workout 2-3 times each week, sometimes just once a week. By September of 2002, I had dropped to a size 6. I was thrilled. I knew I had met my goal.
Then, something in me made me keep going, and strive for more. I began GM/MM (God Made/Man Made) way of eating in September of 2002. I had so much energy; I ate what I wanted on my MM days, and really tried to become healthier for my body. I even went through a period of high stress and shortened my workout to the Basic Workout Plus (15 minute workout) for 6 months, and kept losing inches. Now, in September of 2003, I am a healthy size 4 - the smallest I have EVER been. I'm eating more than I ever have, and I am much more active. Exercise no longer seems like a chore. I now complete the total workout 2-3 times per week. I had no idea that my body could be so strong and healthy at a size 4. My entire body shape has changed. I now fit into my smaller bone structure. My level of confidence has increased tremendously, and my self esteem is the highest it has been in my entire life. I no longer am imprisoned by diet and exercise. I am so thankful to Teresa for truly reshaping my life.
