Christmas 2006: 1 year after starting T-Tapp

My T-Tapp story began when I was twenty three in March 2006 and my youngest of three children was eight months old. Going back a few years, I was married at eighteen and had my first child just three weeks before my nineteenth birthday. At that time I had no trouble maintaining my weight of one hundred twenty and size three even though I never watched what I ate. Nine months pregnant with my first daughter I weighed one hundred forty five and quickly went back down to one hundred nineteen and a size five after I had her. During my pregnancy I thought I was gaining quite a bit of fat but within a few days of her birth all of the "thickness" was gone and I realized that it had only been water retention. So naturally when I was pregnant with my son, I thought the gain was just water and that it would go away within a few days of his birth. It didn’t. I was a fair bit chunkier for several months until I started running and pushing both kids in a stroller. The weight came off quickly at that point, lucky for me because I found out I was expecting our third child when our son was 11 months old. I did Bun and Thigh Pilates through my whole third pregnancy and it really helped with swelling even if it didn’t prevent a lot of weight gain. Obviously after her birth I just couldn’t run or even walk pushing two kids and packing one on the steep terrain we have here in Idaho. I stuck with my Pilates for eight months and had no inch or weight loss and was miserably chunky wishing for my body back.
At my largest I was just a size eight but on my small frame that’s a tiny bit overweight. Even being a size eight wouldn’t be bad if everything was firm and tight! Finally I decided to really do something about the issue. I signed up and paid for several sessions with a personal trainer at a local gym who was going to write an at home program for me, joined a diet club AND ordered T-Tapp all in the same week. I was directed to the T-Tapp website in regards to body brushing that might help my stretch marks. There I found many, many testimonials of people who had lost sizes. I was definitely more interested in losing sizes than getting rid of the four stretch marks I possessed, so I ordered the workout.
My package came in the mail between my first and second appointment with the personal trainer. Immediately I put it in my computer and tried it for awhile. I clearly remember Teresa setting everyone up in "the stance" and then just leaving us there while she went on talking. I thought as I was spacing out, "I wonder how long we have to stand like this?" Next thing I know she starts adding other things to this basic stance and I was horrified as I realized that she intended for me to "stand like this" for an hour! My thoughts were, "there’s no way my thighs will hold up to this, I can’t do it." But guess what, eventually I did!
At my next meeting with my personal trainer I was telling her a little about T-Tapp and KLT especially on lunges because they seemed to be her favorite and she was determined to make them mine. She didn’t think it sounded like a good idea at all and told me to never press my knee to little toe, it should be straight. For some reason still unknown to me I made a choice about two strangers that day; she was wrong, Teresa was right. I never went back even though I had paid for more sessions. Now I understand why she had to say what she did, but I’m glad I stuck with T-Tapp.
A couple weeks later my best friend growing up called me and told me she was getting married in three months and wanted me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. Of course I said yes, it’s not every day you get to be in a wedding but now I REALLY wanted to get down a size or two. In May I went to a clinic that T-Tapp Trainer Kirsten Tucker taught and learned so much there to improve what I had started. I honestly think that’s one of the main things that kept me going with T-Tapp, and it cemented more of my belief in the benefits of the workout and what it can do for your body.
The wedding was in August and I was wearing a solid size six. It took me 6 months to reach my goal of a size 4 but I honestly don’t worry about sizes anymore. My goals now are to have the most healthy and fit body I can have and I understand that will be different for me than it is for anyone else. Everyone is unique, but we can all be healthy and fit! I’ve consistently only done T-Tapp ever since I started and have never dieted. Although I occasionally slack on my workouts, the inches come right back off when I get motivated again. T-Tapp has given me so much. I feel strong, can run and walk without getting winded, stand straight for the first time and have tons of extra energy not to mention smaller clothes and getting fitter every day! T-Tapp is perfect for everyone, especially for stay at home mom’s like me who can’t afford or don’t have the time to go somewhere else and workout. It really works! The most amazing thing is that here, three years later, my body is STILL changing for the better. Thank you to Teresa for creating a superior whole body workout, your wonderful staff and knowledgeable trainers.
