Dear Teresa and “Peeps”,

Just wanted to thank you for your wonderful program. It has not only changed my appearance, it has renewed me and given me the vision to realize that I don’t have to settle with being a ‘middle-age matron”; with T-Tapp, I can be “fit and fabulous” at forty, fifty, sixty and beyond.

I am 5’6.5 and short torso. My closet tells the tale of the roller coaster of my weight with everything from size 4 to size 16. I was always ‘thin’ (size 4-6) until my late 20’s when I started having some back problems (and lazy problems) and went up to a size 10. I went on a good 2-year exercise jag of obsessive/compulsive over-training (2 hours daily/ 6 days a week) and worked my way down to a size 4 by my wedding day. I dreaded it every day, but I did it… After total and complete burnout I just quit.

I slowly worked my way back up to a size 10 and then, joy of joys, found out I was pregnant with my son. I really took ‘eating for 2’ to heart and by the time my son was born, I looked like an elephant in a mu mu (sp?)! When I returned home from the hospital I was 175 and in a size 16, have mercy.

A few months after he was born, I started exercising again. Started out good and slow, but within a month I was back to the obsessive/compulsive 2 hours a day over-training (treadmill, weight training, aerobics, etc…). The weight came off; I went down to a size 6. I was a ‘stay at home’ mom of 1, so I had all the time in the world for the over exercising silliness. I managed to keep the pace up for about 2 years, and once again, after total and complete burnout I just quit.

It took about 4 years, but I worked my way back up to a size 16 at 170 pounds. I knew I needed to get the weight off, and just felt awful about how I looked. The only way I knew to lose weight was that obsessive-compulsive 2 hours a day method. There was no way… Just the thought of all of that exercise made me feel tired, desolate and overwhelmed inside. I had tried ‘dieting’ a few times during those 4 years, but as we all know ‘diets’ alone are just a temporary fix, and I would lose 5 pounds, just to gain 7 back. I hated shopping and just resolved myself to the fact that I was now a ‘middle-age matron’.

Then, this past September (2006), a neighboring school mom asked if I wanted to join her and some other moms to work out in the mornings after dropping the kids off at school. I was thinking ‘high-impact aerobics’ and I really did not want to, but I enjoy the other moms in the group and figured, “what the heck”. That’s where I discovered T-Tapp and the rest is history…

As of January 25th, the last time I measured, I had lost 36 inches. I have lost 23 pounds and am now in a loose size 10 pant. My exercise regime consists of BWO+ 3 days/week and BWO+ & SATI 3 days/week. That’s it! No weight training, no 2 hours at the gym, no high-impact aerobics, just BWO+ and SATI. Instead of 2 hours/day, I am getting beautiful results in 2.5 hours a week.

I am not ‘dieting’ by the way, I am never hungry. The main things I changed are that I eat NO fast food and have really limited my intake of simple carbohydrates and high glycemic foods. If I’m hungry I eat, I just try to make healthier choices.

I still have some hip pads and some belly fat, but I can do this! This is actually fun! Instead of dragging myself to the gym and forcing myself to get started, I look forward to my workout everyday. I love the forums and support I get here, the friends I have made and the accountability on the Habit Formers thread.

One of these days I may start Inst #2, but for now, I'm going to stick with BWO+ and SATI. Once the weather warms up here and I can get outside more, I will probably reduce my workout schedule as I will be more active naturally. But until then, my current schedule is working great, it’s the first thing I do every morning and I have increased energy the rest of the day.

Most importantly, I feel great. In addition to the inch and weight loss, I have had several other beneficial and noticeable health benefits. The first is that I can wear high-heels again. I had not been able to wear heals in at least 4 years without terrible knee pain, but thanks to T-Tapp and learning how to walk correctly (not on the inside of my feet) I can wear heals again with absolutely no discomfort. Even more remarkable, I have not had any lower back pain in the past several (3 or 4) months…none.

Thanks Teresa and thanks to all the T-Tapp gang here.
