60 Day Challenge

My T-Tapp contest participation resulted in an unexpected success, and the T-Tapp CRT brushing I began at the same time has brought an unanticipated bonus.

The first part of my original goal was to get stronger so I could do more with my only child who is almost 13 years old before he leaves home, which I know will happen sooner than I want it to! He loves hiking and biking and would like to do other activities which I haven’t been able to do because of being so deconditioned for so many years. I would get injured doing every exercise program I started and during a lot of normal everyday activities because I had gotten so weak. The second part of my original goal was to lose a lot of inches and some more weight beyond the 10 pounds I had already lost on a lowered carb diet. For many years my 5’8” frame carried 125 lbs. but a couple years ago when my hormones had a major shift, it was suddenly carrying 152 lbs acquired in a matter of a few months. I got somewhat sidelined from my goals by problems with my DVD player, so I didn’t actually begin T-Tapping and brushing until July 21.

Because of time constraints, I have only been able to do the BWO. I started with the Instructional tape #1 for four days, and then moved on to the BWO without Hoedowns (because I don’t have any oomph left after doing BWO) for 15 days before going to every other day and skipping a few days for camping trips in the last couple weeks. I have done CRT brushing almost every day I have T-Tapped and had begun the alfalfa a couple weeks before beginning T-Tapp. I also find myself, when I am feeling pain in my lower back from an L5 disc that started vanishing when I was 17 after an untreated back injury, tucking my butt and doing KLT – my back pain instantly disappears! What a wonderful tool to have in my pocket after all these years of what seemed like inescapable pain.

My unexpected success was that by just making up my mind to keep doing the BWO every day for that 19-day boot camp, I seem to have overcome my extreme exercise aversion. I am, needless to say, THRILLED with that result!! I have read that blood-type O’s need and crave hard exercise, and I wanted to crave exercise, but I have hated anything that made my heart rate go up or made me sweat, for more of my 52 years than I can remember. As a result, I had not done any regular exercise for 13 years since I became pregnant and the yoga I was doing at the time made me nauseated. I now actually feel like I don’t want to miss my T-Tapp sessions because I have been so inspired by how strong my legs have gotten and the increased ease with which I can do my daily activities. There is a steep hill I walk up every year at our church convention that I usually dread and have to stop to rest halfway, two-thirds and usually three-quarters of the way up. Last week I was able to charge up it and it felt like such a victory to have that kind of strength again. I can now get back up from squatting in front of my dryer without holding onto the top of the dryer to pull myself up. I can go up stairs without huffing a puffing. The rest of my body has improved in strength also, but not quite as noticeably – I will plan to go to Lani’s next Kirkland clinic and see if there is something I am not doing quite right. I think I have KLT down pat!!!

My inch loss results weren’t what I had hoped they would be but anthing is better than nothing and I have included quite a few things in my diet in the last two weeks that before beginning T-Tapp would have caused almost immediate inch and weight gain. I lost only 2 lbs, but I comfort myself with the knowledge that some of that includes added muscle weight that will burn more weight off in the long run. I know that when I have more time and add Instructional tape #2 and the rest of the workout, I will get the same results in the rest of my body that I have gotten in my legs (which I still can’t get used to seeing like they are now!).

The CRT brushing, besides the amazing decrease in cellulite and the lightening of my varicose veins that my husband and I have both noticed and the softness of my skin, produced an unanticipated bonus of therapy for my bilateral tennis elbow. Because of my deconditioned state, when I fell while sledding in Jan. 2003 and again in Nov. 2003, I ended up with tennis elbow first in one arm and then the other before fully recovering from the first injury. I had some limited improvement with many weeks of therapy and had resigned myself to the weakness and pain that happens when you can’t fully use a muscle that you have to use no matter whether it works well or not. Well, lo and behold, apparently the action of brushing with the CRT brush, trading off hands as each arm fatigues, has helped my condition greatly. I brush pretty hard, so my forearms get quite a work out. Can you believe it – another benefit of CRT!!

Mine may be a success story that isn’t very dramatic – and my before and after pictures don’t look much different to me – but I am very happy with my contest results and so happy to be exercising again (and actually enjoying it). I feel younger and stronger than before I started T-Tapp, and know that means I am healthier. I plan to make T-Tapp a part of my life as long as I possibly can.

Thanks Teresa for sharing your knowledge with all of us and for all your support of every single one of us. I am so glad I found out about you when I was doing a search on cellulite two years ago – I knew right away I had come across something that made sense to me – even though it took me two years to get started! I feel like I’m on my way, now.
