Me with my daughter, Holly

Well, this semester's almost over. It's been an amazing experience with my English classes T-Tapping a few minutes each day. Students have learned Hoe Downs, arm moves, balance moves, and stepping moves that give them a mini-workout each day.

I continue to be amazed by their enthusiasm. Students have been doing the exercises on their own - helping to rehab sports injuries, jumpstart weight loss efforts, or even just to keep awake in boring classes (not mine, of course!)! Some students have taught their parents the exercises, introducing T-Tapp to even more people. They'll remind ME if I don't exercise when they think we should! They love to be able to workout without weights and still tone their muscles.

Teachers are tapping too! There's a core group that joins me every Tuesday and Thursday after school to Tapp in my room. We're like a group of girlfriends who meet at my "gym" to workout together. We watch the DVD while we workout, but I'm there to help clarify or give pointers.

What's great is that I have my principal's support for my efforts. As a former coach, she believes that exercise is important for everyone. Next year, it's required that Tennessee schools have 90 minutes of physical activity for each student each week. My principal now knows T-Tapp is a way to accomplish this without having to revamp the schedule putting everyone in a PE class. Just 5 minutes in each class each day will meet the new requirement. Easy to do with T-Tapp!

I'm extremely lucky to have a husband who believes in me and encourages me to challenge myself. I'm very grateful to Teresa for supporting my efforts with my training and visiting our school to share even more about T-Tapp. A special thank you to Kitty who worked tirelessly to help schedule Teresa's visit to Tennessee. And a very special thanks to you on the forums who help keep me motivated and share ideas and pointers that help me tweak my workouts even more.

And last, but not certainly not least, thank you to my students who have been so motivated to earn a new way of staying fit, even if it was English class! You all are the best! I love you all!
