I was on the verge of accepting the way my physical being was until February 2003 when I received a free issue of Fibromyalgia Magazine in the mail and opened it up to a full-page ad that read, “Even people with Fibromyalgia Can Do T-Tapp”. Here was a glimmer of hope that I would find something I could do.
I went to www.T-Tapp.com and started reading articles, trying movements (unsuccessfully due to the state of my body) and, in hope, preceded to order the Basic Workout Plus. When I got my workout and tried to do it, I was a pathetic sight! My hands could not get past my knees nor could I move my head to do the Primary Back Stretch, head tilts or rolls. I just sort of hung there (if you could call it that)!
It took me 3 months to be able to do the 15-minute Basic Workout Plus due to my Adrenal Fatigue. That was when I added Rhodiola to my nutritional supplementation. That greatly improved my adrenal function, and in another 3 months I was able to consistently do Basic Workout Plus 3 times a week.
By the beginning of November 2003
- 80% of my constant pain was gone.
- I quit sleeping on ice packs
- I quit wearing a sacral belt
- I quit wearing a workout belt
- I quit wearing a corset to sleep.
- I could move my neck to the left and back to the center with no pain.
- I could lift my arms and clap my hands.
- Showers no longer felt like razor blades cutting through my back.
- I could wash my hands without having to brace myself on the sink and my legs on the cabinet.
- My arms quit going dead all the time.
- People started making sincere comments like, "There is something different about you that I can’t quite pinpoint" or "You’re looking good."
By Thanksgiving 2003
By Thanksgiving of 2003, my own family started making remarks about the differences in me. The sweetest words I’ve ever heard came from my oldest daughter, Karla, she said, "Mom, you’re beginning to move like you used to, fluid, graceful and coordinated".
I know that I am back! I’ve got my life back.
I know that I can never do weights again, I can never bike, I can never ride horses again, I can never hike, I can never do master swim again. While I can’t do water aerobics, nor Pilates, etc, I CAN DO T-TAPP. Not only can I do T-Tapp, I can make even the fittest athletes sweat with T-Tapp when they try to keep up with me, a Grandma. That’s empowerment!
I was invited to attend the T-Tapp Event for October 2004 in Safety Harbor, Florida. Fortunately, the herb Rhodiola Rosea had come into my life by then. It is an adaptogen and guards the body from physical, emotional, environmental, and chemical stress. I fared very well that weekend. I even did 3 workout classes. When I tried the floor exercise, my legs would not move. I was encouraged to become a trainer by a T-Tapp staffer. But I had a wedding to prepare and on March 8, 2005, three days after my younger daughter’s wedding, I had an emergency appendectomy. Every time I am given general anesthesia my adrenals get taxed and it takes me 6 months to get back to par. My doctors had me increase the cortef and put me back on thyroid.
In October, 2005, even with a shoulder/neck problem, I certified for T-Tapp More. With the approval of my physical therapist, I used the Total Beginner/Rehabilitation Workout to rehabilitate my shoulders and neck once more.
I enrolled in the Trainers in Training program so that I could get certified for Total Workout. Certification would be in November 2006. Gradually I increased the hours of my teaching to 6 hours a week and on October 7, 2006 I was able to complete a 5 hour continuous T-Tapp workshop. I had enough energy left to go to a dinner/karaoke event as well. We got home after midnight and I was able to get up the next morning for church. This was a hallmark for my physical endurance as I had previously gone into adrenal failure.
One week later on October 14, 2006, on the way home after a 1-1/2 hour workout session, I was in a car accident. The next day I developed a limp in my left leg but no pain. I could not hold the phone to my ear, I couldn’t hold a plate and I was dropping things. I was told to rest for 8 weeks and was unable to go to Florida for the November certification
After the 8 weeks passed, I went back to doing T-Tapp but my physical ability was very limited and I was not progressing.
My days were filed with various doctors’ visits, chiropractors and physical therapies. During one of my doctor visits in March of 2007, I was told that I was diabetic. I tried to explain that my inability to do workouts was causing the imbalance in my system. She didn’t believe me and wanted me to be on medication. I refused (nicely) and fired up my conviction to get back to T-Tapping.
Five weeks before I was to be in Florida to attempt certification to teach Total Workout, I started decompression therapy. I was not allowed to lift, bend, reach out, do any workout and had to even stop physical therapy. With great apprehension, I went to Florida in October of 2007 and successfully certified for Total Workout. Yea!!!
In December of 2007 I completed my spinal decompression treatments and immediately increased my time spent on T-Tapp. Improvements came quickly. My primary care doctor admitted that I’m NOT diabetic and was impressed that I have not had any adrenal nor thyroid medications since June of 2007 at the same time that the T-Tapp workouts and other physical activities increased. Inches are coming off and people think I’m no more than 50 – I turn 64 Feb. 2008.
On February 2, 2008 I again attended a 5 hour T-Tapp workshop. I was stronger than ever, without medication and with energy to spare. T-Tapp has given me my life back once again!
After all, quality of life is what it’s all about. I have that to offer anyone who wants it through T-Tapp!
I am empowered by T-Tapp and you can be too!
