Certified T-Tapp Trainer
Hi! My name is Joanne Bentley or “Kiwi” on the T-Tapp forums. I’m married with one child and live in beautiful Cache Valley, Utah where I am an Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology at Utah State University. My passion for whole-body health lead me to start Bentley Fitness Zone where fabulous T-Tapp workouts compliment foot zone therapy to balance the body. I am excited to be a T-Tapp Personal Trainer (IFPA certified) to help others, like myself, with chronic fatigue. The body is an amazing machine and with the T-Tapp wellness workout you can help your body function at an optimal level.
Growing up in New Zealand I was immersed in local Polynesian culture, which embraced high-fat foods and social eating. I loved to enjoy rich food with my family and friends for holidays and life events. Even though I swam competitively and taught Rock n’ Roll dancing, it is not too surprising that for most of my life I have struggled to maintain a healthy weight and good eating habits.
In 2001 the stress and more sedentary life style of a student finally caught up me. I began using the T-Tapp program while I was struggling with thyroid problems that developed in conjunction with a devastating miscarriage. All of this happened in my early thirties when the pounds seemed to accumulate just by thinking about food. Even when my doctors could do nothing for me, T-Tapp gave me the energy to carry on working full-time and a whole-person approach to get healthy enough to conceive and carry-to-term my son, Ethan.
While pregnant, my T-Tapping diminished somewhat due to some unexpected problems with vertigo and acid reflux. After a VERY difficult birth (100+ vaginal stitches) and prolonged recovery period, my core muscles had atrophied to the point where I couldn’t lift my feet off the floor to put my pants on. In the fog that overwhelmed me during this time I completely lost my body-mind connection in the hell commonly associated with chronic fatigue. I was bone-weary tired like nothing I had ever experienced before. In the beginning weeks, as I struggled to get back into shape I couldn’t even make it all the way through Primary back stretch without a rest.
However, I persisted and 18 months after the birth of my son I certified as a trainer. I feel fabulous. I had clothes in my closet that ranged from size 24 to size 16. Although I am still a work in progress, through regular T-Tapp I have more energy, think more clearly, and have greater emotional balance which helps me do my job well and have energy to spare for my husband and energetic young son.
Considering my health challenges, T-Tapp has greatly helped increase my quality of life in ways I never though possible. T-Tapp uniquely combines isometric isolation, linear alignment, neuro-kinetic flow, and a low impact cardiovascular workout to provide the perfect exercise so desperately needed by people like me with chronic fatigue. I became a trainer so that I could help other women find the same level of fitness and well being that I have received through doing T-Tapp.
Yes, you can too with T-Tapp!
My personal success inspired me to become a T-Tapp trainer. My educational background and professional training in teaching puts me in a unique position to assist my clients to get more out of their workout by working SMARTER rather than longer.
