Essay:  I had been doing T-Tapp for a year or so when I became very disheartened by the lack of big number changes in my inch loss and, instead of continuing, gave up for a time. I tried doing other aerobic activity for awhile but quickly discovered I missed T-Tapp. Why was I looking elsewhere when I had already found what worked for me? I missed the philosophy, the way I felt, the ease of doing it anywhere, the time it took. When the 2017 Challenge came around I decided to care about my health in a new way. I had to “show up” when I worked out and not just go through the motions which is so easy to do but gives you nothing. I had to care and work hard while giving myself grace and perseverance when I came up against my weaknesses.

I primarily used Basic Workout Plus. I purchased Master Trainer Renee McLaughlin`s Form Intensive course to help me which was wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to delve deeper into the subtleties of all the moves. Part way through the Challenge I began to incorporate the arm section from the full workout into BWO+ after the plies. For the longest time doing Hitchhikers felt like I had flour sacks weighing down on my triceps. The other day I worked through the arm section and thought I had missed doing Hitchhikers because there were no flour sacks! Just happy arms – hooray! I also did Diva Derriere and Awesome Legs. I have difficulty engaging my stomach muscles so I especially like Awesome Legs for this.
I bought a floor-length mirror which was hugely helpful especially when it came to doing T-Tapp Twist. I had no idea I`d been doing it incorrectly. It had felt right but it I was doing it very wrong. That was a huge revelation to me. I`ve slowed way down and concentrated on my form.
I had an injury on some ice two weeks before the end of Challenge (I live near the Arctic Circle) and had to gently T-Tapp for the remainder. However, this is one of the things I love about T-Tapp. You work to your max only. Sometimes that means pushing hard, and in this case it meant I should be gentle but persistent.

My massage therapist has been blown away by the change she can feel in my body. She said the difference between my body before T-Tapp and after T-Tapp is night and day. This is hugely encouraging to me, especially when the inches aren`t dropping off like I hope. There ARE changes happening even when the tape measure isn`t reflecting that immediately. I have more energy, I no longer wake up several times in the night to use the washroom, my gut is happier, my skin glows, my visits to the chiropractor have sharply decreased. In time the inches will reflect that.

For me T-Tapp has perhaps done more for me mentally than physically. I am a big time daydreamer. Doing T-Tapp has helped me to connect my interior world with reality. I can’t just drift off. I have to connect my mind with real actions. I have to be present. The program really doesn’t allow for anything else if you want to see change. This is very difficult for me at times but I love that my brain has to engage fully with my body. It keeps me from becoming bored because there is a mental battle being engaged. And inevitably this type of thinking spills into the rest of life which is invaluable for a star-gazer like me. This is why I`m grateful for T-Tapp most of all. Thank you, Teresa.
