My name is Eden. I am a 12 year old Canadian girl. I am the oldest of 8 children and we homeschool. I have never done an excercise program before because I just play alot outside and am a healthy weight. I like to curl up alot with a book or crochet. I also spend alot of time hunched over my math. So I didn’t have the best posture. My neck muscles hurt when I tried to move it in any way. Most days I woke up with a stiff neck. My back was really hurting when I tried to do handwriting or lessons. I would sometimes have to just stand up to make it feel a little better. Every year our chiropractor takes xrays to measure the curve of our neck. The s year, mine had actually gotten worse!

A few months ago I read my mom’s Fit and Fabulous in 15 minutes book and wondered if I could improve the aches in my body. Also my mom wanted me to get a little more excercise in my homeschool day since I sit alot doing lessons and winter is 6 months long here. I didn’t think doing Ttapp would help me since I thought it was for losing weight. I got the Core Ttapp DVD for Growing Bodies (like mine!) for Christmas and did it a bit. Then in February my mom told me about the 60 Day Challenge! It sounded like a lot of fun and had the best prize I could imagine!

We took our pictures and measurements and made a plan. I would do 3 or 4 Ttapp Core exercises on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week. And during the other school days I would start doing Core moves when I got achy, stiff or needed to clear my mind.

My favorite moves that helped me during lessons were Shoulders, Chair and Hoe Downs. After 3 weeks I could tilt my neck almost down to my shoulder without any pain! I could turn it side to side way further than before. I also had way less pain in my neck, shoulders and back while sitting doing lessons. I didn’t have to stand to feel better. I just did a few moves in my chair and that helped every time.

After 5 weeks I noticed my posture was improving because it was getting uncomfortable to slouch. I was keeping my ribs up and shoulders back because it felt good.

I wasn’t expecting much of a change today when we took my after pictures and measurements. I didn’t think my problems could be fixed so easily! I was BLOWN AWAY!! In my after pictures there were big, significant changes in my back and neck. You can see I had a MUCH better posture and my whole torso was smaller! Even my mom was totally shocked because I didn’t have weight to lose and I only did it twice a week. I had measured an inch less or more everywhere in my torso. Mom said I ”tightened up like a shoelace getting pulled”.

Thank you so much Ms. Theresa! This has totally changed my life! I thought I was going to total disaster. That things would just get worse and worse and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Now I have something that really helps. My fear of things getting worse has vanished and that takes alot of stress of my body and mind.

I am looking forward to seeing how the contest ends. Even if I don’t win a prize, I still have all the good things that happened in my body and the hope that I will grow strong and healthy. And I can try again next year. No matter what, I will keep doing Ttapp as part of my homeschool routine and for the rest of my life. I know now that no matter problem you have in your body, how old or young you are, with Ttapp, YES YOU CAN!!
