Hi! I’m a T-Tapp Trainer and Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I live in Hawaii, on the beautiful island of Kauai. I love helping others improve their health and wellness using T-Tapp. This is my story of how I started T-Tapping and what a difference it has made in my life! I have been active and interested in fitness most of my life, motivated by weight and hormonal issues that started in my early teens. I had to work hard to maintain my weight. I was involved in just about everything that has come along — yoga, running, aerobics, step classes, spinning, Pilates, mountain biking, swimming, dance, circuit training, as well as teaching the martial art aikido, and aerobics to native Fijian women (that’s another story!).
In my 20’s, I discovered weight training at my chiropractor’s office and I was hooked! I gained the strength a yoga teacher had said I lacked (my joints would pop out often), as well as finally losing the extra pounds I always carried around. The weight training created more muscle, which in turn increased my resting metabolic rate and burned more fat. My body issues and struggles all seemed to fall away by maintaining regular workouts using weights and doing a cardio workout regularly.
I felt consistently strong and dynamically connected to my body, without having to constantly control everything I ate. Fast forward to my 40’s — I noticed that I wasn’t reaping the same results as I did in my 20’s and 30’s. I made sure I varied my workouts, tried some new approaches but I wasn’t maintaining my weight as easily anymore. No matter how much I tried, I was gaining weight! I was also tired of being dependent on equipment and gyms to get my workout.
Then I started to have energy or adrenal issues as I headed into peri-menopause. It is common for many women at this age to discover that you have spent your adrenal energy reserves living a stressful or overly active life. As your body starts to wind down reproductive hormone functions, the adrenals are supposed to help out with this transition. Well, if you don’t have any adrenal reserves left, your body is left short changed. I got this message loud and clear one day when I passed out in the bathroom due to extreme low blood pressure brought on by exhausted adrenals! Needless to say, I backed way off from my exercise program for good. A couple months later I learned about T-Tapp from a friend. Using Teresa’s “Try Before You Buy” Section of the T-Tapp website, I started using a few of the exercises. I was leaving for a trip to Hawaii soon and was desperate to feel comfortable wearing a bathing suit. Within two weeks I had lost an inch on my waist and had a firmer butt! Upon my return from my trip I ordered the Total Workout DVD and within a month I had lost back fat and noticed that my body was transforming into a longer, more feminine and svelte line. I also noticed over the next months that a collapsed arch and bunion on my left food was correcting itself. The arch was raising and my big toe was straightening out. And recently, after two years of T-Tapping, I found out I have grown 1 1/4 inches in my height due to lengthening of the spine and developed muscle support!
Today, while sharing and teaching this workout with others, I continue to feel the evolving benefits of the T-Tapp system of activating muscles without using weights. This workout includes every aspect of what is considered necessary for optimum fitness and health by leading exercise physiologists – balance training, cardio vascular training, muscle building, flexibility training, and right/left brain training. I am also supported by the hormonal balancing and lymphatic pumping I receive from T-Tapp during this peri-menopause time of life.
I truly enjoy helping others to become fit and happy in their bodies. Thank you Teresa for creating such a freeing workout!
